Regional Information |
The Costa del Sol, Spain is an all-year-round holiday
destination providing numerous sporting, family and cultural
activities. Golf courses abound in this area providing
some of the best courses in Europe. A vast variety of
sporting activities are available including water sports,
riding, cycling, tennis and walking.

Family attractions include water parks at
Fuengirola and
Torremolinos, Tivoli World theme park in Benalmadena,
Fuengirola zoo, Sea-life centre, go-karting, mini-bikes and
much more.

The vibrant Spanish life is depicted across this Andalucian
region and can be sampled in numerous locations including
the larger cities of Malaga, Seville, Cadiz and Grenada,
further inland through the towns of Coin, Elhaurin,
Benahavis or Mijas, or in any of the small Andalucian
villages. Take a visit to
Ronda to the bullring and
gorge.

For those wishing to travel further, the ski resort of
Sierra Nevada is about 2 hours away and
Gibraltar, with its
history and duty-free shopping is about 1 hour. Make
sure you visit the famous apes on the rock and stock up in
Marks & Spencer! There are also various trips
available to North African destinations.

The apartment is in
Calahonda situated between
Marbella and Fuengirola, a very popular area for
British holidaymakers. Calahonda is located close to
several golf courses and has the typically sun-drenched
beaches for which the Mediterranean is famous. Just a
couple of kilometres along the road is Puerto Cabopino,
which has the reputation for being the most secluded and
picturesque port on the Costa and is a popular venue for
tourists who want to enjoy a good meal before taking a walk
along its sandy beaches. Some of the coasts most
popular restaurants are located here.

The quaint town of La Cala and the fabulous marina at
Capobino, both with beautiful beaches, are no more than 10
minutes drive away. The Hippodrome racecourse is located in
La Cala for those who enjoy a flutter on the horses. The
exclusive resorts of
Marbella and
Puerto Banus with their
fabulous shops, restaurants and nightlife are within 15
minutes, as is the ‘La Canada’ shopping complex.

The area around the apartment is an ideal base for activity based holidays.

The Club del Sol tennis and
squash centre is within 5
minutes walk offering over 15 hard and clay tennis courts, 6
squash courts and paddle tennis. Coaching and mix-in
sessions for all ages are available all-year-round.

The
choice of golf courses within the area is huge. The
La Siesta 9-hole par 3 course is located in the valley of Calahonda within 10 minutes walk from the apartment.

There are numerous locations to indulge in a range of
watersports including water-skiing, wind-surfing and
scuba
diving.

The ski resort of Sierra Nevada is
just a couple of hours away.
